The Reclamation Plan

The Reclamation Plan includes a topographic/grading map
as well as other important information about the site.

Both a Reclamation Plan and a Conditional Use Permit
are required to conduct surface mining.
All surface mines must have both a permit and an accompanying reclamation plan. The rock quarry's permit is its Conditional Use Permit (CUP) 82-0611. The reclamation plan for the facility (originally called the V.R. Dennis Natural Resource Facility) is shown below. The Reclamation Plan and the Conditional Use Permit (CUP) must work hand-in-hand. While each document may show different types of details, the two documents may not contradict each other.

The quarry's CUP and the Reclamation Plan, however, are not completely in agreement with each other. For example, the written description of condition 10 of the CUP states that blasting will be precluded within 200 feet of the Mission Gorge Road right-of-way, but the corresponding area of the reclamation map shows little to no set-back along Mission Gorge Road.

Since 1983, the quarry's CUP has been amended once, in 1990.  The reclamation plan has not been updated.
