ABOUT US
Why is a review necessary?
  • Condition 4 of the CUP states: "This permit shall be subject to review of all conditions by the Planning Director of the City of San Diego on a yearly basis. This review shall be brought before the Planning Commission for consent. The review before the Planning Commission shall be properly noticed."

A synopsis of the CUP review process for Superior Ready Mix

1.  The CUP review is initiated by the Applicant.

2.  The City's Project Management team then gathers information about Superior:
  • Information comes from Superior, the Community Planning Groups, other agencies, and the public.

3.  The City's Project Management team then makes a recommendation based on the information it has gathered and submits its suggested amended conditions to the Planning Commission for approval.

4.  The Planning Commission accepts, rejects, or accepts with revisions the plan submitted by the City's Project Management team.

5.  If there is a request for an appeal to the decision of the Planning Commission, another public hearing is scheduled.
  • The cost to appeal is $1000.
  • The decision of the Planning Commission is final.

6.  The CUP as approved by the Planning Commission is presented to the City Council for approval.
  • There will be a resolution that introduces the proposed CUP.
  • The CUP is not valid without the approval of the resolution passed by the City Council.
  • The date on the newly amended CUP is the date that the City Council approves the CUP.
